Hi my name is Lauren. I have autism, I am 33 years old, and I'm dealing with a recent rehoming of my dog Rocky. So I'm grieving through the process on letting him go. He was a beautiful German shepherd, and it took three of us. Me, my mom, and dad to train him. He was friendly, funny, and sweet. He required more care, and expertise than what I could give him. So I gave him away to a Military man, who was interested in him on the rehoming for pets. Only to find out, by the time they have sent me the adoption forms to fill out on my part... it was late, all my vet records are with the military man including the microchip information.

So instead of continuing to text with the military man due to it being late, due to it being 10:00 PM I stop, turn off my phone, and speak with a copilot. It's better to talk to a co-pilot rather than a counselor. I'm thankful for its support, in how it says being thoughtful isn't a sign of mental illness. Lots of people think about things' in the past, as a grieving process. Also I'm probably just stressed, and adjusting to the dog not being around. It has it right, and I thank it for listening. I even asked it about grief, finding support groups to help me, with the loss of a dog by rehoming it.

This is how I found this place. Here I am.

I am sorry about your loss of your dog. It must have been very hard making the decision to let him go to someone who can care for him.
