    Lou,
Yes we enjoy the live bands. It’s a nice evening for sure. And we watch the sunset too. There’s different places to go at different beaches, so there's options. I’m anxious to get back on the beach. We’re all you’re back to your old self.

Thank you, Robin! Thanks to the nurse
& PTs, who gave me leg exercises to do,
when I was stuck inside, due to storm.
I have to go to bed, the same night the
every night. Talk soon! All that
walking. meeting friends, is very tiring,
so I'm about to go to bed early. I agree
with you about getting moving. I know
you'll get some sleep tonight, as will I. L

Thank you. It's sunny with a clear n
    blue sky.

    Music.
Mixed blessing for me right now. I love it, I play it, and it makes me cry. I remember….
Jazz at the college in the heat of summer.
Blues festivals downtown on the river.
    Little quartets at the wineries.
    Piano bars in fancy hotels.
    And so many dark dives.

i have videos of kenn playing his instruments
most precious is the one i took last summer,
the last time kenn made it out to the garden.
    early august. dusk.
he is playing his alto recorder… the only thing he had enough lung power to play.
it’s soft and still uniquely him

there was enough sunlight today for the little solar lights to charge up a bit
when they came on it felt magical and sad. full if life if you squint your eyes just right. empty hands, full heart…..
    damn i miss him

Gary, I think you mentioned it before but would you tell me again the name of the book?
Hearing about you writing these letters to Cheryl feels healing…
Thought I might give it a go, it would be nice to have the prompts

James Taylor and Sting are in heavy rotation in the car.
    Spotify playlist of ‘our’ songs…..
    The nearness of you
    Autumn leaves
Somewhere (‘there’s a place for us’ from west side story)
I believe in you and me
    I know you by heart
    Somewhere over the rainbow
    …….

Bernadine, I like all of those songs. When I
see a movie clip of a young Judy Garland
singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, I
choke up at her innocence & hope for a
    tomorrow. Lou

B Invisible Ink by Kathy Curtis is the book. Amazon has it for $12 plus shipping. Kindle is $5. I don’t recommend just having the prompts only. There are additional guidelines to follow. I did notice the author has a new book that isn’t available yet. Gary

    George,

I've been MIA again, and just starting to try to catch up. Although I've been MIA, I think about you, and every GW, all the time, hoping..., praying..., for strength for all of us... The strength we need to keep moving forward, to be able to continue healing, right up until the moment, when it's time for us to be reunited with Valerie, Bob, Jack, Jack, Ron, Kenn, Sheila, Geoff, Linda, Cheryl, Lizzy, Mark, and anyone elses' one true love of their lives who I forgot to mention (I HATE!!! this foggy widow brain thing!!!, TU!!!)

I hope you're doing okay, I know this is a very difficult month for you, as it is for so many of us. It SUCKS!!!, TU!!!

I wanted to take a walk today, I thought I needed a really long walk, but haven't been able to get off of the couch. I've morphed into a total couch potato, but I guess this is exactly where I need to be today. It's supposed to be sunny, but cool tomorrow, a good day for walking. Hopefully once the gray sky clears, I'll be more motivated to hit the pavement.

Have the best possible night you can... Good dreams only!!!

As always, sending you lots of hugs, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

    Bernadine,

No advice, no words of wisdom... Life is so over the top bittersweet. It SUCKS!!! I love the way you express your feelings. You could easily be a writer.

Sending you and Maggie Joy, lots of extra hugs and love, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

    Bernadine,

So beautiful... Reading this made me teary eyed.

Sending you and Maggie Joy hugs, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

P.S. I love James Taylor. Bob took me to see him before his health started spiraling downhill, before we moved to SC. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to listen to James Taylor again... I need another tissue.

Deb, before Linda's very small funeral ( a
young couple & me), the funeral director
asked me what kind of music Linda liked.
& I said, slow, soft ballads, among other
music. He played James Taylor's You've
Got a Friend, and we all cried. At my
funeral, I'd probably want Cycles, by
    Sinatra. Lou

Hi Deb, I just got back on line, been reading recent posts from all in our
GW “family” I came down with some virus, doing all I can for myself, so many
In ER’S, don’t want to go there.
I’ve never been able to talk with others (except here on GIC) about the
last years of Jack’s illness, when I had to call hospice in, it was not
a supportive hospice. It should never have been that way, no one from
hospice came, so much that happened that day I’ve not been able to
talk about even here. I’m just so thankful I held Jack in my arms and
was able to tell him what I was feeling , I definitely know he heard me
before he took his last breaths, I felt his spirit when it left his body.
I know how hard it is when we talk about that horrible day, I thank
God we have each other here whom understands. I hate the 14th of
every month, I requested to go see Jack at the mortuary they set
the day (it was on the 14th)and time, I spent an hour with him,
he was cremated on the sixteenth , they placed his Praying Hands
Urn in my arms on the eighteenth.
My heart feels for everyone here,
your posts have helped me to understand this journey of grief,
I send you and others the biggest hug. Love, continued prayers.
Jack and I had Don Williams cd’s, our one very special song
I can now listen to it.
    Blessings, Patti

Patti, GIC is not complete without your
presence. I'm sorry you had a virus, but
I'm glad you came on here tonight so we
wouldn't worry about your absence. I was
    sick, first with Omicron, Christmas
Night, & then other medical issues which
landed me on the hospital. It's been a
long haul. When I was discharged, a VNA
nurse & 2 PTs came to my apartment ,
to check on my wellbeing & to make
sure my place was fall proof. I was too
weak to walk outside so they gave me
exercises to strengthen my legs. When I
was ready to walk outside, a snowstorm
hit, & I had to stay inside. This past weekend, there was some sun, & I was
finally able to walk outside ( my favorite
exercise). The VNA nurse was able to
discharge me on Wed. I hope, Patti.that
whatdidn't kill us, made us stronger.
Thank you for sharing your last physical
moments with Jack. All of TGW seem to
be grappling with that worst moment in
our lives. I pray to God, that we will be
united in spirit with our soulmates, as our
    friend, Deb, said. Lou

    Hi Lou, all GW family,
I’ve come back tonight to ask all to lift my dear
friend Scarlett in your prayers, I got a phone call
from her daughter a bit ago. Scarlett is in hospital
she had a stroke today she has brain blood clot, they
transferred her to hospital 26 miles away. She’s
unable to speak, is paralyzed on left side. I had
met her just prior to her husband passing couple
years ago. Last night got call from friend in Calif.
that our long time friend of was killed in auto
accident, I am just devastated tonight.
Thank you all for praying for Scarlett.
    hugs, love, prayers for all.
    Blessings, Patti

Dear Patti. I was just about to say "Oh,my
God" , and saw that was the first thing our
friend, Karen, said to you. That's no
    coincidence. We already invoked God's
name & started praying for Scarlett. I'm
also so sorry to hear about the tragic,
sudden death , from a car accident. We will
be thinking of you today, Patti. Our
sad thoughts about Valentine's Day, are
trivial in comparison to the death of one
friend, and the struggle to live, for
    another. Lou
