So beautiful George!! So happy you’re pushing through and continuing with your awesome art that makes so many smile. I’ve missed a lot lately. I’ve had internet issues all week. Plus somehow I see that ignore your posts was clicked on. I’ve unclicked it but not sure it took. Ugh! I’ll figure it out. Thank you for sharing your talent. Keep trying George.

Last 23th was 18 months since my darling husband left this Universe.

Always thinking about my GIC friends that I have never met and you help me to travel the most painful journey of my life!

Here is one of my most recent pen and ink drawings that would like to share here. IMG_20230625_163347_kindlephoto-2458836.jpg

George, their birthdays are difficult. I find Ron’s birthday so hard to get through. I usually try to do something that he would enjoy. I know you thought of Valerie a lot. She was with you and always is. Lots of love and hugs! Robin

Good to see you back Helena, and your splendid drawings.
I hope you continue sharing your lovely work, so we can look forward to viewing them, just like George's bright, colourful art.
    Thank you and take care.

It’s so hard getting through those special days, we all understand. I have both our birthdays coming up next month, and anniversary! Just too much, can't wait till it's all over. :(

Rose and everyone, its 2 1/2 half years since my Jack left this world and me and the birthdays are still hard. The kids want to spend his birthday at our family lake Aug 27th, l don't want to go. That lake has been our special place since the 80's and l haven't been back. I'm a coward. I just hurt thinking about going there. l feel everyone's pain regarding special dates. K

Karen you’re far from a coward. It’s very hard. If and when you’re ready you’ll know. If I do nothing I ache and something I ache. Those special dates with wonderful memories are now full of heartache. Leading up to the dates are as hard or harder then the date itself. We all understand. Robin

Thank you Karen. You are absolutely no coward. I understand perfectly. I could never go back to where we spent our summer beach holidays. I also have "our" special place I'd love to go to, (a 'stone' bench, near a famous 12th century abbey), but just haven't got the heart to do this, at least not yet. I would break down in pieces. Apart from the fact that it's located up on a mountain (1,450m high), a long, steep, winding road which I am not brave enough to drive along. My son would definitely take me if I asked him but I'm not ready.

Robin, your words are so true, the days leading up to anniversaries are so difficult to get through, I think my kids probably won't mention their dad's birthday when the day arrives, unless I do first. I understand them, they're afraid of my reaction, that I may break down, so they prefer to wait and see if I wish to say anything or not.

I understand how your children are thinking and protecting you and your emotions. My children protect me as well. For me even as my heart aches and the emotions flow, I need to talk about Ron. And have told my children and close relatives. They’re still cautious but do bring up things and might cry but that’s ok. Certainly is a hard balance. Robin
