Lou, I hope you enjoyed your lazy day. My days have been lazy out of necessity. Thankful for the beautiful weather. And thank you. Robin

Thank you, Robin. So sorry you're
"down for the count", as Linda used to
say. I hate to see you in pain. We GW
care about each other. I did enjoy my
lazy day. Lunch at cafe, with live music,
& talking with my friend after the band,
when he played drums ( softly) in the
backroom. Early evening , I walked down
to the promenade by the ocean, to
see another friend. Can't wait to hear
about your jaunts to the beach. It's
supposed to be 70s this weekend, so
the promenade, or Neck, will be lively
with both tourists & locals, Should be
fun...... I see you were up late. I woke up
just now, got on GIC, & was pleased to
see you on here. Now, back to sleep.
    Hope you are, too. Lou

Thank you Lou! Means a lot feeling your care and support. It’s been a rough couple of weeks. This flare up has been longer then usual. Yes I’ve been staying up late, I was finally asleep when you were up at 3:40. Looking forward to this weekend. Calling for 80 on Saturday. Sounds like a beach day to me, that’s our plan. Can’t wait. Also looking forward to the bands on the beach. I think they start after Memorial Day. Makes for such a nice evening. Yesterday sounded like such a nice peaceful day for you. I’m happy you get to have that time with friends and by the ocean. I spent time on my deck taking in the beautiful day and planted some flower seeds. Waiting for this flare up to end. A little better yesterday. Raining today but ending soon. Teddy’s snoring, I’m coffee a warm cup of coffee and visiting with you. Have a good day and I hope they can help your dizzy feeling. Tats really not fun. Robin

Rose, it's so nice receiving your reply. Yes all of us here are connected not only because we are grieving... every time you are writing to TGW and we read, our thoughts and feelings identify with the other person... for me, lessen my loneliness and hope for all the warriors is the same.
When I was learning piano, my teacher didn't have patience with older students, so I quit and learned the notes and typical basic songs. I like the way your love of your life C had patience sitting by your side writing the notes for you to learn. I also like J. S. Bach, but a lot of the Baroque music could be sad and sometimes uplifting. You mentioned that now you can't play "Air in G string", yeah it sad!, but your memories and C's presence will be a beautiful feeling having him so close to you, try to play again, we are connected. Sending you love, joy and peace. Helena

Thank you Helena, it’s definitely been a rough time. I use that mantra all the time too, thank you for you kind thoughts.
Very rainy day here, but starting to clear up.
There will be better days, I know because I have experienced it. Wishing you better days as well.

Lou, Good to hear you're enjoying music and warmer weather. Here it's too hot in the mid 90's, so I'm sitting in the air conditioner, playing some relaxing music and trying to read and positive thoughts, feel much better than the past few days. Wishing you the most joyful rest of the day! Helena

Robin, so glad you have bands on the
beach. As I've said before, though not a
veteran, I enjoy having coffee every Sat.
am, at the American Legion Post across

from the beach. I'm the only non veteran
there, but they respect & like me for 2
reasons: 1st, I had the guts to walk in
there, all eyes on me, that first day. I was
shaky & lonely and needed to be among
people. When I walked in, I went up to
the oldest man, a Korean War vet, 92,
& quietly told him I didn't serve. He told
me to sit & have coffee with him. Turns

out his wife died , after 67 years of
marriage. When he said he talks to her
picture, in a frame, on his bureau, every
day, I almost lost it, & had tears in my
eyes. I told him about Linda, and we've
become good friends. 2nd, the other vets
are a fun bunch, who rag on each other.
When they found out I had PTSD, after
seeing my wife die in front of me, some of
them understood, bc they suffered PTSD,
    seeing their buddies die in
Vietnam & Afganistan. I was overly
sensitive when the guys made fun of me
for being short. But, my Korean War
vet friend is short , too. Now, I can laugh &
give it back & it feels good. The bldg is
closed in July & Aug, but some of the vets
sell hot dogs, popcorn, & sodas at the
    Monday night band concerts. Lou

To my GW warriors. I'll be off of the forum for a time. I just lost my buddy, my cat, Rambo. he was 16 years old. He was my savior after Jack died keeping me sane.
He filled the void in this house. I'm devastated beyond words. I shall be back after God wipes away my tears. Good speed to you all, Karen

    Oh, Karen
I’m so incredibly sorry to hear about Rambo.
You know I understand as Tai’s death hit me so intensely in January.
Be well, cry well, see you soon. ~B

Oh, God, I'm so sorry to hear about
Rambo, Karen. I wonder if you could
just attach a "LIKE" to our posts. I can
understand your not wanting to post,
but the fact is that I'll miss your kind
advice. I've been feeling strange lately,
a mixture of loneliness and a feeling of
mortality ..... Your old friend, Lou

Lou, I’m glad they enjoy your company and make you feel comfortable. You shared how you are friends with the vets and that they let you have coffee even though you’re not a vet. But I didn’t know this full story. I’m sure they respect and like you for more then 2 reasons. Maybe because you’re you. I’m happy they welcome your company and the jokes were all good natured. I’m sure you have days that you feel 6’ tall.
I see you mention feeling a bit off lately. I’m so sorry and I hope it passes for you fast. I just told someone recently that everyone thinks we’ll be ok in time. But it really doesn’t work that way. Not for me anyway. Time helps but time also make you miss your person more. It’s been too long. They need to come home. They are with us, we need to remember that.
I hope you’re enjoying time with friends. Robin

    Karen,

I'm so very sorry to hear Rambo crossed over the Rainbow Bridge... I'm teary eyed as I'm "talking" to you... I know how much you loved, still love Rambo... It SUCKS!!!

I wish there was something I could do or say to make you feel a little bit better, but being impossible, I'm sending you zillions of virtual hugs and love... I will, like all of TGW, be here for you, if the time comes when you want to "talk."

Please take care of yourself the very best you can. I know you know all of this, but I can't stop myself from repeating: Try to remember to eat, drink lots, and rest as much as you can. Jack would want this for you. All of your GIC "family" wants this for you... We love you.

Keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers...

Sending lots more hugs and love, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB
