I just feel so brain numbed and tongue-tied lately! So hard! For one who used to be so verbose!

I feel like crap which is pretty typical for the last couple years and especially in the last 14 months. I am NOT ok that is honest and OK to admit it

Hi Deb, I remember the British version of Candid Camera when I lived in London, it was called "Game for a laugh" and we also have an Italian version over here. You're right about triggers popping up everywhere all around us. Just think, I was at the mechanic's the other day, waiting for my punctured tyre being repaired and I had to struggle to hold back the tears. What was I doing there all alone? My C would have dealt with that, or we would have both been there together.
A warm hug to you too.

Rose I get it. C should be there with you taking care of the punctured tire. I had to jump Ron’s truck last week. Same thing happened. I’m crying while trying to get his truck started. Such an emotional roller coaster this new life we had thrown at us. Robin

Rose and Robin. I've been there last year when it was snowing. Dead battery, jumped it three times worked then died. Thank goodness I had AAA. I called them they came out and determined I needed a new battery. They had one in the truck and installed it. No charge because it was still under warranty. If I ever have car trouble they will tow me to the mechanic no charge. Thank god for AAA. American Auto Association. I pay for roadside assistance not expensive, it's well worth it, I feel more safe living alone.

We have been dealt the wrong cards. I'm so tired of doing men's work. Yes roller coaster, tears, anger more tears, I yell, Help. We scream, we cry and we learn. New life. Karen

Karen, Oh yes we’re learning. I lot of this I learned from Ron. And I’m learning more as I go. Things I wish I didn’t need to know. I have AAA too. I’d be stressed without it. Gives me peace of mind. Ron truck died in the yard. Used my daughters Jeep to jump it. Apparently her battery was dying and now we had 2 vehicles with dead batteries. This actually happened on Father’s Day. I was already feeling emotional. My brother. Are over and jumped Rons truck. My daughters Jeep wouldn’t hold a charge. But we took the battery to autozone they tested it and yes it was dead. Got a new one and now both are running perfect. The way I see it , it was better to have it happen on my driveway then her Jeep not start while on the beach.
I’m so tired of mens work too. And I’m not liking this new life. Robin

Robin also, the AAA guy told me I have to run my car twice a week for 20 min to keep the battery charged. Not let it run in the garage, but drive it. Because I don't go out often anymore I need to keep an eye on it. You are very lucky that your brother helped. We need our wheels, life stops without them.

Now we go back and remember what our husbands told us or how they did things that we can use to our benefit.

I’m very lucky that both my brothers not only live close they also were mechanics in my fathers garage and bus company. And he told me exactly what you just said. I have to drive the truck not just start it. I’m so sorry you went through all that and in the snow. Of coarse it happened during a snow storm. Rons truck is hard for me to climb in. But I’m doing it. I can’t lose his truck. I understand not going out much but I guess if we want to keep their vehicles running we need to push ourselves. Our husbands are still helping us when we use things we’ve learned from them. We definitely do need our wheels.
I pulled a muscle recently so everything is even harder right now. Lot of heating pad, ice and resting. But Ron’s truck is being used. If I can’t climb I’m then I give it to my daughter for a day. Robin

You are very lucky, two brothers and a daughter close. You are blessed. My daughter is across the street and I swear she's as strong as a man, almost. Couldn't survive without her help.

Thank you. I love my GIC family. Everyone cares. And yes, I need his truck to be ok. My daughter helps me so much. So I’m a way using her dads truck helps her. I pay for the gas which is ridiculously costly. Win win the way I look at it.

Robin, I burst into tears when my check engine light came on a couple of months ago. I knew what to do but the reality of doing it alone was overwhelming.
Car’s fine btw, borrowed a sensor from a local shop, just a routine maintenance light.
(Which I still haven’t done anything about because, alone. Always alone.)

Oh Bernadine, I get it. We all do. That check engine light, that’s such a panic attack when you see it. It happened to my daughter recently. Thankfully hers was her gas cap needed to be tighter. But the panic and tears that light brings. It’s so hard to make yourself push through things. For now, it can wait.
