    Lou,
Thinking of you while you wait for your results. So sorry for everyone going through this test result torture.

Love the beach. Robin. The ocean feeds my
soul, all seasons, but I love summer the
most, bc I can go in the water. Also, it's
also more lively here with tourists, and
shops & restaurants being open. Lou

    That’s great news Lou!
We both love the ocean, I can’t go in any more. Could hurt my joints. I do on very calm days. When I visit Ron jr in Florida the water is calmer, I go in there and love it. Robin

Thank you, Robin. I'm praying for Patti,
Gary, and all of us. I bet that ocean is a lot
    warmer in Florida!! Lou

I had tears of joy reading that prayers that are being offered up for me. It’s nice to feel like you belong. I get that feeling at GIC with TGW. Robin you’re right that book is ridiculously expensive. I bought mine on Amazon and I still paid 45 bucks used. Sleep consolidation is the first work to do. That is the hours or time spent in bed and the time spent in bed sleeping. You make a sleep log of how many hours of sleep in how many segments and how much time I was in bed without sleeping for one week. The theory is to go to bed tired and fall asleep immediately. I was going to bed and reading for about two hours and then trying to get to sleep. Wrong. The author simply states the bed is for Sleep and sex. not for watching TV working on your laptop or reading. I was only getting four hours of sleep initially. I had to stay up later to be tired to go to sleep. I started staying up till midnight. then as I got more sleep I started backing it off a half hour earlier every week. I’m telling you this Robin to give you an idea of what the book is like. I picked up about an hour and a half more sleep afterwards. Gary

Gary, my prayers & those of TGW, were
answered for me. My lab tests were no
worse, and the doctor told me to come
back in 6 mos. I pray for good results for
you, Patti, and all TGW. The male
doctor, who doesn't show much emotion,
has a kind female assistant, who does. I've
met her before, and she talks with me as
a whole person, and not just as s patient.
I told her I was a widower, and that I
was happy for her engagement. She
could see my worried expression and
smiled & calmed me down before the
doctor came in. On my way out, I wished
her and the receptionist, a Merry
Christmas. You are a stromg, outdoorsman
and I believe you will be OK. Lou

Thank you Gary for the info. The $57 is on amazon. I didn’t see used but didn’t look either. I do just what you mentioned, stay up late midnight or sometimes later. And can fall asleep pretty fast. Lately I’m awake at 6. I slept a little better when both my kids were here. I do have a tv, but rarely watch before bed. And if I wake up I try not to pick up my cell phone.
Everyone is rooting for you. Lots of prayers! Robin

It’s warmer and much calmer. Plus my son is there if I got into trouble. Ron almost drowned when our kids were very young. My daughter Stacey remembers. Possibly why she only goes knee deep.
Just the sound of the ocean calms me. Robin

Karen, I love this caring group. We all pray
for each other's health. Right now, it's
been specifically for Patti & Gary. I was
worried this am, about going to the doctor
(without Linda by my side), about test
results from last week.Turned out OK for
now, return in 6 mos. The doctor's
assistant saw the worried look on my
face & talked with me. She remembered
I was a widower, and I congratulated her
on her engagement. Did you see the
George Eliot quote on Center for Loss?
I told Robin about its' concept, to make
grief our companion ( bc grief will be
with us forever). rather than the monster
enemy you called. Mr.Grief. I'm willing to
try, bc fighting with Mr. GrIef, wore me
    out. Lou

Lou, thank you. I think it was Robin who first answered me a year ago when I first posted. Then I did get some posts from Mary and Patti.

My friends, who I can count on one hand, and family don't seem to want to talk about Jack, maybe it's because they know I'm still emotional. They can see it in my face and demeanor.

I've been reading Jonathan's book from time to time. At first I couldn't put it down, then I had to take a break--made me extremely sad.

Lou, I signed up for those quotes but I don’t get them. I tried a couple of times. But grief as a companion sounds about right. That’s how it feels. Learn to live with it.
I know Chris, she’s a very caring person. I recalling reaching out to her quite a while ago.

I'm going to try grief as a companion, bc
    constantly fighting "Mr.Grief" just makes
me feel defeated and exhausted. So glad
you know Chris. Hope she stays with us
    again. Lou

Karen, I was sobbing the first time I tried
to read Jonathan's book. The first chapter,
when Joy dies in front of him and he's
helpless with therescue squad, was just too
close to my horrific experience with
Linda's final moments. I put the book
away. One morning, over coffee, I skipped
that 1st chapter and "couldn't put it down",
either. Halfway through the book, is a great chapter, Good Friends and Bad Friends,
which is so true for you, me, and other
GW. Another good one is : Stupid Things
Said By Smart People. Even if you're not
up to reading the sad parts, you would
    like those 2 chaptees

Karen, there's a cute typo for you:
    "chaptees". Lou

    Gary,

I've been MIA for awhile... I know you had a medical appointment recently. I'm so very sorry that it wasn't good news. I thought I sent you a message because I remember reading somewhere that it wasn't good news, but can't find that message or
    Gary,

I don't know where to put this message, but I'm thinking you will see it here. I've been MIA for a couple of days and am having trouble keeping up with all the new posts. I'm so sorry the test results weren't good and that you are going to need additional testing. I always include all of TGW in my daily prayers, and now I'm saying extra prayers for both you and Patti... I know all of TGW prayers are being heard...

I remember you telling us that Cheryl's tribute is on April 11th. The timing of your test results being so close to the day of Cheryl's tribute just SUCKS!!! I just want you to know I'm thinking about you... Praying the results from the additional testing will be better than expected... Hoping Cheryl's sisters are able to "behave," and keep all negative feelings to themselves during the tribute. It is definitely not the time or place for any of their "garbage!!!," TU!!!

Sending lots of extra hugs, love your way, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

That's funny, Karen, never heard of that
one. When Linda and I went to Newport,
R.I. one hot day, she bought me a T-shirt
which drew laughs from the many tourists
that hot, sunny day. I can't believe I wore
it, to draw attention to myself ( I wouldn't
wear it now----I like my privacy) The
shirt said: "I'M TIRED, I'M HUNGRY,
    LEAVE ME ALONE". Lou
