Thanks, Gary, for getting back to me on
your musical preferences. I agree with
most of them. As I probably told you,
after Linda died, I could t listen to ANY
    song without sobbing.Now, I love
    Hootchie Cootchie Man, by Muddy
    Waters. There's a man who doesn't care
what anybody thinks about him. What a
far cry from being a " people pleaser"!! I
think you'd get a kick out of the words,
as well as the beat. As for the female
vocalists, Linda & I liked Peggy Lee,
singing the rather mournful, "Is That All
There Is?". When Linda was a"Debby
Downer", I made her laugh by calling
her Peggy Lee. She retaliated by saying
that the title of Patsy Cline's song, "Crazy",
    was about me. Lou

Stacey, I had an "old Hollywood" incident
on the bus. An elderly man, well into his
80s, struggled to get up the steps. He was
loaded down with 2 insecure shopping
bags & a cane. The impatient bus driver
kept telling at him to hurry up & put the
correct change in the box. The man kept
apologizing. I went up to him, and said
that it looked like he was having a tough
day. He nodded, and showed me a photo of
himself, as a young man, sitting next to
    Hitchcock. Apparently, he'd been a
chauffeur back then. His eyes lit up
when he spoke of meeting famous
people, like Charles Laughton. As I get
closer to this man's age, I realize that it
doesn't take much to be kind. We
said each other's names, & will probably
    see each other again. Lou

    Lou,

That's so cool. You're a good man. I'm sure you made his day much better.

Can't even imagine getting to meet Hitchcock! Very cool. I'm glad you met. I hope you do see him again. And yes, this world needs more kindness. Except for the bus driver. What a butthead. But he too, probably just needs Jesus....and a hug. ♥

Rough day for me. Another one. I want to fast forward through the pain.

This has been a good distraction today. (It's music but I don't think it will make anyone sad - it's fun to watch if nothing else).

Hopefully this will make somebody else smile tonight. ♥

Wow! You're amazing, Stacey! Never saw
or heard this group. Not my style, I preferred The Supremes, but thank you.
I'm sure other GW will like this. Lou

Stacey, the bus driver was a large, unhappy
woman, who didn't like her job. Hopefully,
she will go somewhere else. The last job
she needs is a sedentary job, behind the
wheel. In addition to being rude & impatient with bus passengers, she has to
put up with traffic, the endless bus loops to the supermarkets, and drivers who cut her
off. I know she'd like to give those drivers
the finger, but she can't, bc she'd get in
trouble with management. She is probably
not too happy to keep wearing a mask,
which is still required on public transportation, including buses & taxis.
Other places are libraries, town halls, and
    elementary schools. My conservative
(I'm one!)friends are getting sick of the
neverending restrictions. In parts of Europe, there are violent protests. BTW,
I'm glad you & I were able to get on GIC
tonight. A lot of people can't bc of
    technical difficulties. I emailed Karyn
Arnold around 7pm tonight ( my time)
to let herknow . It's 11pm my time, so time
for bed. Thanks for answering me, with
    your humorous insights, Stacey, Lou

No, Karen. There's something wrong with
the Internet today, which is also affecting
GIC. Deb alerted me to her technical
problems & is worried we'll have another
blackout, like we did after the Halloween
rebooting. I had trouble & so did othets,
    including Bernadine. I emailed Karyn
Arnold around 7pm to let her know. I'm
sure she'll want the technical team to
    solve the problems before Thanksgiving!

Karen, GIC seems to be working today,
thank God. I emailed Karyn this am, to
thank her for getting back today. I didn't
get a quote from Center for Loss yesterday
or today, but I have been getting book
offers from the founder, Dr. Alan Wolfelt.
Did you get those? I don't want to buy any
books right now. Hope you & your
daughter & your friends have a peaceful
    Thanksgiving dinner. Lou

I didn't get a quote today either. Yes, I get his book offers too. I'll check in with the group probably on Friday. Happy Thanksgiving, K

Deb and Stacy, I know this may not get to you in the order it came, but I'm wishing you both a good Thanksgiving day tomorrow. It's a day to find something to be thankful and grateful. Blessings, Karen

    Karen,

I think I read somewhere that this Thanksgiving, you're even sadder than you were last year. I'm glad that you'll be surrounded by people who love you, and although they don't truly "get" it, support you the very best they possibly can... Sending lots of extra hugs your way today...

You are so right, it is a day to find something to be thankful and grateful for... I'm so very thankful and grateful for you, for each and every one of TGW... I still have a difficult time believing how close we've all become in such a short period of time.... Bernadine said, in different words, that Lou is a people person who seems to bring people together. I totally agree!!!, TU!!! I told Bernadine that I think that while George is the UGW, Lou is the UPM (ultimate people magnet.)

As Robin says, she finds that the days leading up to an event are usually worse than the actual event. I hope Thanksgiving turns out to be better than you're expecting it to be.

As always, sending you and Rambo lots of hugs, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

Karen, I agree with everything Deb said,
AS ALWAYS ( haha!). Look at my last reply
to her just now. I think you, and now,
Bernadine, will like another name Linda called me! Lou

I think my caffeine has kicked in BIG TIME. a really good thing...

    Gary,

I'm glad, as Robin would say, you're doing what feels right for you this Thanksgiving. I hope you have a very peaceful day..., and give yourself plenty of TLC. I think this would make Cheryl very happy.

I love!!! your advice to Stacey... As always, you're right on target. I love that you say this prayer and say it out loud... As always, your posts leave me thinking about something. Today I can't find the post where you told me to read the chapter in "Permission to Mourn," You Are Stronger Than You Think. However, since you gave me this advice, I've reread it many times. George said earlier today that he is a badass!!! I totally agree!!! Although I haven't accomplished as much as George, the UGW has, I know I am stronger than I think I am. I'm going to keep repeating this to myself, especially today. When I think back, while life has been difficult for me since 2015, the last three years have been the absolute worst. It's hard for me to believe that I managed to do all the things I did, all on no sleep, while being stuck most days at the bottom of that seemingly never ending roller coaster ride of emotions, and with practically no outside help.

My friend, I'm having Thanksgiving dinner at her house today, is always very honest with me, she doesn't sugar coat anything. This is one of the things I love about her. Long story short, she said to me something similar to what you told me. She told me to try to replace every negative thought I have about myself with a positive one. She told me to repeat to myself, " I am a smart, strong, intelligent woman, and I will get through this." The two of you have given me excellent advice.

As always, sending you hugs, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

P.S. When I said that George is the UGW, I think we should officially make Lou the UPM (ultimate people magnet.) I think Lou brought us together in a way that wouldn't have happened otherwise. He has a "gift" for getting people to bond and open up to each other. Bernadine noticed this too, and she is the newest member of TGW.

P.S.S. I am grateful each and every day for TGW!!!. TU!!! I'm not sure how I would get through this without all of you. I could go on and on and on, but..., stopping here.

Sending extra hugs your way today, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

    Good Morning TGW's ♥

I started to read what I've missed the last few days and was quickly overwhelmed. Too much for my cluttered tired mind right now. But I wanted you all to know I've missed you and I pray that though every holiday has it's pain and challenges for us all right now, you found things to smile about and enjoy.

Our family was together at our son's up north. There were lots of enjoyable moments and I did better than I thought I would, to be honest. There was enough going on that it kept my mind and body pretty busy.
Since I got home though, I've kind of crashed. Lots of sitting and staring between the tears. I will be okay. I think I just need rest (and my husband, but I guess I'll settle for rest).

Just wanted to say hi. I hope everyone has a positive day ahead. ♥

So happy to hear from you, Stacey. I must
have fear of abandonment issues, bc
whenever one of TGW isn't on here for a
while, I worry that person decided to
leave our group. I didn't think you would
though, bc you're a dynamic. vital,
spiritual member, with or without your
    montages. Glad your Thanksgiving was
better than you thought it would be, like
many of us did. However, your crashing
post holiday, also mirrors many of our
feelings of mourning. I'm trying to live,
day by day, as we enter a new month. Lou
