Oh George that is a lot to manage. I did not realize the extent of your illness. That is a Job! And your Art is Awesome! I am sorry for your troubles. It is very difficult what "We" all have been through. I wish I could take your pain away. I don't even know how I manage to get up and out everyday. I guess cause I have to work and support myself. But I only get thru it by not talking about My "G". Otherwise I would be a puddle of tears. I come to this site so I can talk about him and cry in private. with all of you. For which I am so grateful to you all for welcoming me. I will get to know you better and perhaps come up with better suggestions going forward. Thank you for listening. Kim Elizabeth.

Hey Kim Elizabeth! I totally appreciate your kind messages! This is a particularly hard time because today Valerie would have been 59, I feels so thwarted and frustrated and sad all at once. It is so hard to keep being strong. You are a great support and I hope I can be too! It's so hard to help anybody when it feels like you can barely help yourself. We just need to keep hanging in there and NEVER give up! Lottsa love from me to you! Be strong!

BroGeo, I'm proud of you, my
    younger brother, for "getting
    through" Valerie's birthday,
just as we all try to get
    through, but never over, our
    grief for our soulmates. I'm
    glad you acknowledge Valerie's
birth date, instead of her death
date. I do the same for Linda, and it's finally able to make me
smile. I enjoy your reaching out
    to our new member, Kim
    Elizabeth, from my state of
    Massachusetts, and her warm
    replies to you. Lou

Thanks my bro! You are so right I celebrate her birthday and remember happy birthdaze from our lives together! Like the time we actually went out to dinner and I took her to see the "Marchies:" or how she termed mariachis! Lots of good memories overall! Hot and humid in BerwynTown..

    O
Love your humorous recollections of Valerie's unique
    phrases. Right after Linda died,
my grief counselor asked me to
write down all of Linda's funny
    sayings. I told her I couldn't
    without weeping. But, just as
    with reading the powerful
    The Widower's Notebook, a
memoir, by Jonathan Santlofer, one day I could.
Now, I can quote her and
    laugh with both friends and
    strangers. Linda always loved
the effect she had on people, as
    did I. Brother Lou

BrLoo I always in my mind hear things in Valerie's fun and unique wordplay. For all her faults- no one is perfect. She wasa smart funny and witty. I would refer to her as "Amusal-rie" . Feeling more myself and mellow today... At least Dialysis is air conditioned!

    Wow,psychedelic picture,
    Lombardo! Reminds me of the
    funny character , Austin
    Powers, when his movies had
    similar pictures. Lou

    George, I like your affectionate
    nickname for Valerie. This may
be the first time you shared the
lighter side of Valerie , which
made you fall in love with her
    in the first place. Lou

Thantz from my digital art phase. Glad you like it. Valerie and I were ALWAYS coming up with silly and/or hideous names for each other. Maybe now that I am letting go of her maniac side, I can groove to the nice side!

    Brother George, just came
    home from dancing almost
nonstop 'til my feet hurt & I
had to sit down. My usual dance
partners hadn't arrived. I noticed a woman in the
corner of the bar , who I'd never
    seen before. She was dancing
    by herself, joyously, to the
blues beat of the band ( blues
is my favorite type of music).
I asked her to dance with me
in front of the band, and she
    accepted. It was only later
when we were about to leave,
that I found out her name. She
hadn't been to this bar in quite
a while, but when my female
    friends arrived, they hugged
bc they knew each other. The
woman told me she was divorced, like all my dance
partners, & I told her my wife
    died. After she offered her
    sympathy, I said my female
    friends,who I didn't know last
year, have saved me in my
grief. Like you. I can smile at
    the good memories of Linda.

So happy for you to have found something! I'm still looking... though. Hottest most humid day of the year in BerwynVille 'sposed to get near 100... I'm waiting, wanting... something good to happen here. If it weren't so humid might try and do some art. Take care Bro!

    Thanks,younger brother. Word
of caution: Don't try to do
    ANYTHING in your horrible
    heat & humidity. I say a prayer
of gratitude to God that our
    summers just have short heat
    waves ( 3 days in a row of 90
degree days). I think your weather is among the worst in
the U.S, but that of Rose, in
Italy,is the worst of all: After
    torrential, endless rain and
    flooding, are temps over 100
degrees . Rose can walk outside
    only early mornings. I can't
    imagine living like that. Lou

I agree Lou, I acknowledge more my C's birthday rather than the other date I don't even to wish to mention. I find this just happens automatically in my mind, preferring to embrace those "once in a lifetime" beautiful memories we shared together, which I am so grateful for, they keep me going, keep me sane, but at the same time ever so heartbroken and sad.

It's been a little cooler these last few days, a great relief, but I think there's more in store next week, August won't let us get away with it that easily!

Lou, I think you've beaten John Travolta by now, you've probably been dancing so much more than he ever did in his films, including the famous duet with Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction! Ever tried that one?
