Thank you Lou! I’m glad Bernadine taught you. Can also use emojis from keyboard on your phone.
I wish you a Merry Christmas too. And everyone else. My daughter is here with me.
    :):D:rolleyes:

In 16 hours it will be a Christmas past. Seize the day TGW. Lou have you used the GIF while texting? On your text page if you have a red magnifying glass at the bottom of your screen tap it. It is emojis on steroids. I have a busy day thank God. I must get cracking as James Bond would say. Peace be with all TGW. In this moment I love you all! Gary

Gary, I just replied to your moving post to
Leyna, before I even had coffee! Now, I see
that Robin just replied to me. I'll let you
go, and "get crackin'". I look forward to hearing about all the Christmas Days of
    TGW. Lou

This is wonderful this Christmas morning.
It was so good to "talk" with Leyna in the
middle of night, and Gary, twice, just now.
I'm so happy your daughter is with you.
I like doing a lot of emojis when I text my
friends, and to receive them, bc we make
each other laugh. But, GIC is very different
and deep, so it's more important to write
our emotions. I told Gary that I wish we
could talk on the phone, but this is the
    closest we come. Lou

My plans took an abrupt turn for the day. I woke up unusually tired and found myself running a low grade fever. I had to scratch my name from both events today . I wore a N95 mask and sanitized Thursday when I had lab work. That makes getting sick twice going to the clinic for lab work in the last 15 months. I guess its my turn in the barrel. I’ll be checking in all day. Thanks for being here. Gary

Oh, Gary. That SUCKS BIG TIME!!!, as Deb
would say. It's strange, but maybe that's
for the best. You can take naps & "talk"
with us. If you have Omicron, you shouldn't be alarmed. Treat it like any
cold: plenty of bed rest & liquids, if you
have a fever. I watched funny Seinfeld
episodes on my phone last night, including
"Festivus"& has a few laughs. About to walk down to the Neck to visit my young
pal, whose computer store is open this am,
and then I'll come home & talk with you &
TGW. It's a very gray, rainy day here. How
    is it there? Lou

Thank you, Patti!!! Merry Christmas to you!
The Grief Warriors on Grief in Common
are supporting each other "BIG TIME" as
Deb would say. I'll say it for her bc she's
traveling out of state with her son. It's a
cold, rainy day here on the coast of
Massachusetts, but I'm visiting a friend,
to break up the day. How's the weather
there? Nothing is open, so I'm going home
soon, get in my robe & slippers, have
hot tea, food, & keep in touch with my
    close friends here! Lou

Thanks for your prayers Patti. It’s good to see your post today. I hope you have have as happy of a Christmas as you can. George I hope you recover quick after the D. I’m taking Zicam every 3 hours drinking gatorade and other liquids and rest. This is a cake walk compared to what you do every other day. I did get outside and cutback 2 decorative grasses and restock the bird feeder. I was shocked to receive a text from the moderately evil sister. She wished me well and said she was trying to hanging on. That was the first time she had ever expressed any of her grief to me. Lou I hope you met some pleasant people today and no loud obnoxious people. Gary

Gary, I guess Christmas can make even
    someone like your "moderately
evil sister-in- law" feel guilty enough
( fear of God?) to reach out to you in
grief. My town was deserted, a gray,
depressing rainy day. But, all it takes is
one other person to brighten the day. For
me, that's the owner of a small shop,
the only place open, at 9am. We share GIC,
bc though a young guy at 28, he had to
grow up fast, bc his mother died of
cancer, when he was only 12. We had a
lot of laughs, and broke up the day. We
were joined by a guy, a musician, about
my age, who has a girlfriend from out of
town His father died when he was only
    15. It was a true miracle story, that we were together, 3 lonely men on Christmas.
When I said that, they smiled & nodded.
I'm grateful to be in my warm apartment,
in my robe, & slippers, with hot tea &
food. Glad you're drinking fluids, resting,
    and joining us! Lou

Thatz some great imagery Lou of relaxing on this most holly day of the years and all first one in 34 years (since 1987) (is a long time) reading about the dying time in my journals a starting a year ago. Decent weather here as of yet to get out. Don't feel like it much no sir!

George, just woke up from one of my
prized, peaceful naps. I prefer them to
sleeping at night, bc they're only about an
hour, and I don't have to get up to go to
the bathroom ( Deb would make me
laugh & say, "TMI"!!!). I really miss her and
her ability to make me laugh, so I told her
I will "borrow" her funny phrases. Thank
you, George, for praising my "imagery" .
I think TGW are a talented bunch of
storytellers ( or artists, like you),bc we are
compelled to tell our love stories of our
soulmates, to cherish their memories. I
laughed when you said, about going
outside today, "Don't feel like it much, no
sir!". Can you imagine what would happen
if you were in the Army, and your drill
    sergeant commanded you to? Lou

George it’s good to see your post so quickly after the D. I hope you rest well Bro. I hope you have pleasant memories of Valerie and TB this evening of Christmas past. I checked my temperature at 3pm it was normal. I wonder if I subconsciously made myself sick. I was stressing out about the covid in both environments. We’re having an major outbreak in Indiana now. This is a bazaar thought but I wondered if Cheryl had anything to do with my mind over matter fever to protect me? My cousin told everyone to bring their swimsuits and get in the hot tub. Really?!! Lou I think you’re right about the moderately evil sister and her guilt. I’m glad you had some in person man talk today. Your decision to call an old friend yesterday made me call one of my old friends that I’d been wanting to talk to. No answer but I’ll call back later. I’m glad you’re home resting and getting good food and drink. Do you have a red magnifying glass on the bottom of your text screen? If so you can send GIFs. Gary

Hey Gary I think I did just what I needed alone time with journals from when V was dying. It is real heavy for me but not in a "traditional" way at al. Just so dis-associated and blank. I'm sure this is a coping strategy. It jest sucks a lot! I feel yucky!

Gary, so glad your "fever"turned out OK.
I had a good, old fashioned cold a couple
weeks ago: started with sore throat, an
annoying runny nose. Didn't panic. Herbal
tea, " stuff a cold" with food, Tylenol &
bed rest. The fact that I'm in shape, with
all that walking in the fresh air, and my
multivitamins , incl. iron ( for my anemia)
zinc, & many others, made me recover
quicker. I refuse to panic about Omicron.
I do feel blessed to live in a small seaside
town, instead of a densely populated
city. I was always careful in flu season, &
that hasn't changed. I refuse to be caught
up in the hysteria. My role model is 97
year old Ginny, who's sharp as a tack,
    likes people, walks everywhere, doesn't
dwell on her widowhood, and is grateful
to be alive, & cherished in the town. I don't
bother with GIFS, Gary, but I use clever
& fun emojis all the time. So glad you
tried to call a friend. Lou

I so agre with you about not panicking. My worst fear was realized (Valerie dying a year ago of evil cancer) I don't really care about much except my bros on GIC.

I’m glad to hear how well you take care of yourself Lou. I just got off the phone with my friend Jerry. It had been 15 years since I talked with him. We worked together several years. He lives north of me 30 miles. I’m going to stop by and see him on my way to Michigan. It’s good to reconnect with old friends. Sleep well older brother and younger brother and all my brothers and sisters in between. Gary
