That is absolutely beautiful. Contact my producer Nicole Garza at firstname.lastname@example.org. and she will explain the process.
Those beautiful words need to be set to music.
Yes, I thought the same thing, set to music. I tear up every time I read it. I don't know who wrote it, but it's a gem.
If I attempted to set the poem to music, I would have to have written permission from the author. Copyright laws protect composers, and authors. It is a beautiful poem. I wish that I had written those lovely words.
Yes, I thought about that too. I have it framed sitting by, Jack, my husband's walnut urn.
Karen, I'm glad you chose to have Jack's
urn in your home. I did the same for
Linda. I picked out a lighthouse for the
front of it, because we loved them. I also
preferred not to have her birth & death
dates on her "memorial", as I call it,
because her spirit is timeless. Lou
"HER SPIRIT IS TIMELESS", PERFECT, TRUE.
Good Thurs. morning, Karen. I realized
today that I don't have the patience for
reading books about grief, but I found
great videos on You Tube: I like the
simplicity of Counselor Carl, for example.
Enjoyed getting together with a fellow
widower last night at our local bar. He
drank. I didn't. We had a good talk &
a few laughs beyond grief. His wife died
4 years ago, so he was compassionate.
How are you, this am? Lou
SOMETIMES READING BOOKS MAKES ME MORE DEPRESSED. SO I'M BACKING OFF. I LIKE THE FORUM, BUT MY HAND GETS TIRED OF TYPING.
TOOK A HERBAL PILL LAST NIGHT, SLEPT A LITTLE BETTER. HARD TO GET COMFORTABLE IN A SLING. 3 TIMES A NIGHT I'M ROAMING THE HOUSE WITH MY CAT WHO JUST LOVES ME TO BE UP, PLAY TIME FOR HIM.
I'VE FINISHED JACKS COLLAGE, 36X27 ON A POSTER BOARD. EVERYONE WILL LOVE IT. NICE MEMORIES, BUT TEARS FOR ME AND DEPRESSION.
I KNOW EVERYONE'S GRIEVING PROCESS IS AT DIFFERENT STAGES. LOU, DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN YOU FINALLY REALIZED THE REALITY OF LINDA'S DEATH? AS TIME GOES BY FOR ME IT STILL ISN'T REALITY. NINE MONTHS YESTERDAY.
YOU SEEM TO BE MOVING FORWARD A BIT, NICE YOU HAVE A NEW FRIEND YOU CAN SHARE WITH.
ARE YOU A BELIEVER? I AM BUT FIND MY FAITH LACKING.
ITS 1030 BETTER CLOSE UP THE HOUSE, TOO MANY HOT, HOT DAYS. K
I'm glad you have a cat, which isn't as
much maintenance as a dog. Since I
like to be outside all day, I visit Barbie,
a widow, who's retired, but her 2 adult
daughters run a country store. She owns
a quiet French Bulldog, who has been
like a service dog for me.
When I watch the "tides roll
in", like Otis Redding, I feel God's
presence, but I don't attend services.
When I went with a group to Israel,
when I was 40, before Linda, I sat on a
tree lined street in Jerusalem, away from
the group, and really felt God around me.
I recommend videos on grief, rather than
books. Hope you get some comfort from
ILL TRY THE VIDEOS, TKS. I DON'T ATTEND SERVICES EITHER. HOPE YOU'RE HAVING A GOOD DAY. K
Walked to the Neck, which is usually
lively with tourists and my friends who
own the shops, like a bookstore, an art
gallery, and the country store. But, it's
dreary, with rain off & on. I wasn't
planning on it, but I went into the local
bar AGAIN, for a bowl of haddock ( our
local fresh caught fish) chowder, Lucky
thing I just drink pineapple juice, soda,
and a lime! I really think you will feel
better when you can get out of the
house. Can anyone visit? I hear you
have strict indoor masks......L
WHERE I LIVE NO MANDATORY MASKS YET. BUT IN HOSPITALS, ETC. SACRAMENTO AND YOLO COUNTIES (EAST OF SACRAMENTO )ARE MASKED.
MY DAUGHTER LIVES ACROSS THE STREET AND DRIVES ME TO SHOPS. WITH MY LACK OF SLEEP I CANT STAY OUT LONG. YES, PEOPLE CAN VISIT, BUT IVE BEEN SO NAUSEATED I HAVEN'T INVITED.
MY SISTER AND HUSBAND ARE COMING SUNDAY FOR A VISIT. THEY LIVE IN NEVADA STATE. 2HRS AWAY.
IM PICTURING YOUR LITTLE SEASIDE TOWN AS YOU DESCRIBE IT. SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF A MOVIE.
IM IN THE GOLD RUSH AREA IN THE FOOTHILLS WHERE THERE WAS MUCH GOLD MINING.
Many movies were filmed here! Do you
remember Mermaids, with Cher as a
single mother, & Winona Rider, as her
daughter? Also, The Proposal, with
Sandra Bullock & Ryan Reynolds. So
glad your daughter lives across the
street, & you have guests on Sun.
Linda & I got married in Las
Vegas, which became our honeymoon.
YES, I REMEMBER THOSE MOVIES. MUST BE A VERY SPECIAL PLACE.
MY SISTER LIVES IN CARSON CITY ABOUT 6-8 HRS FROM LV.
I like Sinatra's song, Love's Been Good
to Me. (Been a rover, never found a
home---until now). L
Thank you for the beautiful descriptions of your small seaside town. From the very first post I read where you "talked" about where you live, it brought me back to a very special town by the ocean, where I spent so many fun filled days when I was much younger. As I kept reading your posts, I knew that the town I love so much, has to be the town where you live. I knew this before you mentioned movies that had been filmed in it, but after reading that post, it just confirmed what I already knew had to be true.
Every time you write about your small seaside town, I can picture it in my mind... I haven't been back in many years, so I'm guessing some things might have changed a bit, but from your descriptions, it sounds like in many ways, the town has been frozen in time. It is not only beautiful, but is also one of my very favorite small seaside towns! My husband and I raised our children near the water, about a two hour drive from where you now live. We felt so lucky to be able to live in such a pretty place, with farms nearby, and so close to the ocean. I have to stop here (for now). As much as I cherish all the wonderful memories that are flooding my mind, the tears are streaming down my face as I'm typing.
I'm going to bring some old towels and sheets to an animal shelter. I love cats and dogs, especially dogs, and I think getting out of my house for awhile will be good for me.
Sending you hugs, wishing you peace, all of us peace.
