YES!! They are Kim's parents! Fatima
was a spiritual leader in a Spiritual
    church. It's a small hardcover , 2009,
    from E-Book Time, publisher, in
    Montgomery, Alabama. She talks
about her family, so it was especially
meaningful for me. Fatima just texted,
so I better be ready! Talk later! Lou

    Bernadine,

When we say meet up, it just means that we're going to try be on one of these threads later on. I'm looking forward to "seeing" you here later on. Great minds think alike, lol!!! I told Lou prior to this message, that he is the UPM (Ultimate People Magnet.) George is the UGW (Ultimate Grief Warrior). Lou was the one who gave us our name, TGW (The Grief Warriors.) We all think it fits us perfectly. We're so grateful to have you as the newest member of TGW, but, and this is one of those really BIG BUTS!!!, I'm so very sorry you had to find us. I know I'm repeating myself, but while I love it when our group grows, I hate it at the same time. I wish no one ever had to experience this total heartbreak...

Unlike you, I don't have a green thumb, but Bob did. He used to love working in the yard. Backing up a bit, I once killed a cactus. A friend gave it to me years ago, thinking it would be impossible for me to kill... I guess there's always a first for everything. Speaking of friends, I have to get ready to go to Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's house. She lost her husband before I lost Bob, so it is a very bittersweet day for both of us.

I hope however you chose to spend Thanksgiving, it turns out to be a better day than (I'm guessing) you think it will be... Robin, who has been going through this misery much longer than I have, says that for her, the days leading up to the event are usually worse than the actual event. So far, this has been the case for me. However, I don't know how I'm going to react once I sit down to Thanksgiving dinner without Bob, for the first time in 35 years... I better keep a tissue ready at all times...

Better go get ready... Hope to "talk" to you later...

As always, sending you and Tai hugs, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

P.S. Lou also started calling one of his friend's dogs, his "therapy dog." So I'm including cats as being part of TGW too. Dogs and cats provide us with so much TLC... Although I have to say that I once had a cat, Chelsea, who ran so hot and cold, that I gave her the nickname "Sugarsnaps." As Lou said much earlier today, I think my morning caffeine really did it's thing, kicked in big time because I could keep on "talking," but really need to get ready to go. So really stopping here (for now.) TTYL...

P.S. As you might have already guessed it by now, I probably could set a record for the world's longest run on sentences...

This is the first T-Giving without Valerie in 34 years. No little dishes of olives. No stuffing... she made the best stuffing! No wine glasses with sparkling cider juice. This is too weird! I miss her a lot. I keep talking to her picture. I'm sad!

    Hi Deb,
Tai is definitely a therapy cat. She would be honored to be called a warrior I’m sure.
I struggle to keep indoor plants alive too, nearly killed a cactus myself, poor thing is permanently deformed.

I chose to stay home today. My body is requiring lots of down time and I’m tuning in to make sure it’s well cared for. My dad dropped by for a cup of tea and that was just the right amount of social interaction, I cried a little and we laughed a little. I’m naturally an introvert, I have learned to protect my personal time and space so home today feels cozy and safe, Christmas music was on first thing this morning, so far a pretty good holiday. ~B

I have an affinity for commas myself, no time for periods when the brain is on a roll.

Turkey during the early years at first. Then we realized we liked the stuffing more. We had just massive amounts of stuffing one year and mashed taters! Then we got White Castle "sliders" cuz they were open, Tapas type nibbles. She was a great cook and my best friend and soulMate. I miss her so much today!

George, I feel so bad for you.,Your day
was like mine a year ago. I was invited to
a family dinner, but preferred the quiet
of my apartment. I baked chicken thighs,
listened to sad songs, and missed Linda
all day. Today was a different story. I was
welcomed at the Thanksgiving table of a
friend, who's like a daughter to me. Her
teenage kids were there, as well as her
parents. I feel guilty telling GIC this, bc I
have a feeling I had the best holiday of
anyone here. I hope & pray for you,
George, and all TGW for a better holiday
    next year. Lou

Bernadin, you were brave to face this
holiday without Kenn. I am glad that your father dropped by, & you could give each
other a lift. All I can tell you from personal
experience, is that it DOES get better. I was
able to join a family at their dinner table
& felt welcome, even by their little rescue
dog, who jumped in my lap & stayed there.
