I believe in behavior I can control as opposed to the Macro-level which is so freaked up. Be positive power to you all!

George, I heard that in Chicago, the
mayors used to turn the whole lake
green and had huge parades. Boston has
big parades, too, but not as big as NYC &
    Chicago! Lou

Actually its just the river! Valerie used to make her famous Corned Beef! We would always watch Columbo with the "Irish poet" episode. I miss her!

Oh, wow, George. That Columbo episode
was one of our favorites! We loved
how Columbo, in his crappy raincoat,
and car, would bring down pompous,
    rich murderers, who thought they
could outwit him. Linda would get a
    little annoyed with his mannerisms.
Same thing with Monk series, with a
detective with severe OCD. Did you &
Cheryl watch that? I'll have to check
your answer later. Bed earlier tonight.
Coffee with veteran friends at the
American Legion in the am. Lou

Columbo was OUR show! Still have the DVDs. TB and I watch them. It is the only TeeVee I can still handle! I love the Class elements how he brings down the rich ass murderers!

Cheryl and I watched a lot of Colombo movies and liked his spaced out strategies unfold into a major bust. The one where he found old chewing gum in the trash can is my favorite. I listened to the CD “10 seconds to Timbuktoo” tonight by Robert Plant. I was wanting to ask you if you ever heard them sing Louie Louie? Its a pretty cool rework. I listen to music and watch the weather channel with the volume turned off. Good evening Brothers. Gary

Gary, just woke up briefly. I have to say
that when I was in school, I hated the
original "Louie, Louie" song, bc I was
named Louis, later called Lou, and jerks
would tease me by calling me Louie, bc
of that song. Later, I found out that
Louis Armstrong preferred to be called
Louis, as he sings in Hello Dolly. Lou

Fun fact about star of episode: Patrick
McGoohan. He starred in Secret Agent, 60s
TV series. Opening song, by Johnny
Rivers, was "Secret Agent Man" He was
so good that he was offered the movie
role of James Bond. He turned it down, bc
he was faithful to his wife and didn't
want to be kissing actresses. Lou

I like the song “secret agent man” too. I need to correct myself about the title the Robert plant’s album it is “sixty-six to Timbuktu.” I’m going to check out those Robert Plant albums you suggested George. It’s my Zep Escape from my companion MG. Lou I Hope you have a good time at the American Legion with your veteran friends. Major windstorm here. Gary

Patrick McGoohan was in four different Columbo episodes. Spy Guy, Oscar Finch, Military Academy Guy and a newer one that kinda sucked.

Thank you, Gary! Just came home from
Legion. Great guys. Mostly Vietnam era, but I'm a good friend of Roger, Korean
War vet, 92. He & I bonded bc his wife
died after 67 years of marriage. He almost
made me cry when he said he talks to
her framed photo every morning before
he walks outside. He's an inspiration, bc
he is grateful to be alive, and enjoys
laughing with people . He stays young
at heart, bc he's interested in other
people, even a non veteran like me. Lou

George, you know your stuff about
McGoohan! I looked him up. He was born
In the U.S. to Irish emigrant parents, and
raised in the U.K. and Ireland. He was 81,
when he died, in 2009. Lou

Remember George Burns, he talked to Gracie every day until he died. I don't think he ever married.

Karen, you just made me choke back tears.
Burns never remarried. I remember their
TV show. I'm sitting in Whale's Jaw Cafe
on a rainy day. I'm alone, but trying not
to be lonely, listening to a gray haired
couple, singing & playing guitar. A new
married friend, Dick, my age, will play
drums at 2pm. We had a long talk last
Sat, and he was very kind about Linda. L

Lou, I'm so glad you are getting out and always have a story behind it.

Gracie Allen died so young and George lived a very long life without her.

I spent the afternoon with my neighbors, Dave and Georgia and my daughter, Trish, at a winery for tastings and lunch. We have several wineries around where I live. Have you ever seen a vineyard that wasn't gods country? So serene. Anyway, as the tastings went around so did our laughter. We all missed Jack and spoke of him knowing how much he would love to be with us. It was cold, but that doesn't stop people from coming out, sitting outside, bundled up, and sipping wine.

Then I open my door to come inside and the loneliness and sadness hits me. When will it stop? I want it to stop? I can't or don't want to treat Mr. Grief as a companion.

I'm so glad you still talk about Linda to others, I guess three years is nothing--it's still hurts.

'We will be getting our first big storm on Sunday, thank goodness. Sleep tight.

Gary, I told my neighbor about your comment about the saying "Sleep tight". She was born in Germany and said people used to say that because everyone slept in the same bed. K

Karen, I love your wine country story.
But, I know the feeling of coming home to
an empty apartment, after a good outing
& talk with friends. Robin called it,
"happy mixed with sad". In the evening,
I try to occupy myself with exploring my
smart phone. I stumbled on a movie clip
of Clint Eastwood, as a detective, in
Sudden Impact. He walks into a coffee
shop, and sees a violent robbery, with
men with guns. He manages to shoot most
of them, before the police arrive. I must
say that I had an adrenaline rush, and
    wished Eastwood's character was around
to stop the horrible looting of big stores
in Ca. & other places. I get sick of my
    mourner's fatigue. I don't want a TV, or
even to see a whole movie, but I like
movie clips, & sometimes a half hour
sitcom, to break the monotony. I love it
when Stacey cheers us up with her
    movie montages. Lou

I always remember Clint Eastwood as a actor who didn't say much. I always wondered how he got to be a star. I think that's who I'm remembering. TV news here sucks, nothing but shoot ups, road rage, murders, etc. What's become of our society.
On that note I'll say, sleep tight.

I was a big fan of Westerns and cop
shows growing up. Been having fun
talks with Gary & George about old TV
shows & movies. I get my news
headlines on mute bc I don't want
some jackass telling me how to think.
