Gary, that's beautiful that when you see
a female hummingbird, that you say hello
to Cheryl. As I've said on GIC, when I
see a mallard & female duck couple,
gliding effortlessly & peacefully, I think
of Linda & I, in our tranquil moments,
looking at the serene ducks in the harbor.
Bernadine & other GW liked it when I said
that if I could be reincarnated, I'd like to
be a part of a duck couple with Linda. Lou

Hi Lou, I say "Wow" too, for saying I could write a screenplay! What a lovely compliment, thank you. I have only seen some clips of those two films, I will have to watch them though, you have made me curious. The region where I live is actually similar to the Tuscan hills, full of olive trees and vineyards, a place which is not very populated in the winter months, but now in Summer all the town people are back here in their holiday homes, fleeing the sweltering humidity of the towns and cities (similar to you, as you have told us before) I suppose I'm lucky to live here all year round, although winters can be a bit tough. Yes, I did read the post you refer to and put a 'like', I think it was such a wonderful romantic gesture on your part, eating two hotdogs, one for you and one for your beloved Linda. What a sweet story, about your Linda with that little girl and the little battery-powered dog. I understand how you will cherish these memories forever and they keep 'popping up' all the time, they are a comfort for you, I'm sure. I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday and the 4th July festivities, you really do deserve this happiness, I admire you for the way you are, I think you're an inspiration to all of us, I really do mean that will all my heart. I also admire how you find it so easy to make new friends, keeping in contact with them. Good for you Lou, your Linda loves you for this.
Wishing you a peaceful weekend, hope you enjoy listening to the musicians in your favourite café you have told us about.
    Rose.

Rose. thank you for saying I'm an
"inspiration" on GIC. I am an empath, who
cares deeply about other people. My
    manic depression makes my feelings
even more intense, about nature, art,
music, & movies. I cried at the end of a 1958 movie. Some Came Running, with
Frank Sinatra ( who also had manic
depression) and Dean Martin. I saw it
alone, in my old fashioned small town
theater, the night before the Fourth. I'm
about to meet my buddy, whose soulmate
died 3 years ago, at the bar in my local
cafe. There is a great band with a female
vocalist. There is a new beautiful waitress,
35, from Spain, who is here for the summer. She is an old soul, who also has
manic depression. After her shift, we had
a long talk & I half jokingly said I wished
she had an older sister like her. She is
relaxed with me, bc she knows I'm not
trying to come on to her. Linda used to
tease me that I was a sucker for any
woman who smiled at me. Thank you
for your kind comments about the 2 hot dogs, and about Linda's kindness to the
little girl. I miss her everyday. As Deb says,
our lives are bittersweet. How can they not
    be? Lou

Hi Gary, thank you for your
comment about my place. It was very emotional reading about how you have been hearing your Cheryl's point of view and understanding she wants you to heal. I've just been looking up Kathy Curtis on YouTube, like you suggested, I'll sit down and watch that later on today and let you know.

Like Lou has commented, I think it's wonderful how you say hello to the female hummingbirds. I've been reading so many comments about ducks here by our friends that I'm going to try and post a photo of my set of ornamental wooden ducks we have. My C had a special fondness for these lovely creatures and he chose to buy these during our first years of marriage when we were spending time decorating and buying furniture for our home.

Hope you have a good day, and take care.

    P. S. Haven't been able to post that photo, keeps saying file too large.
I'm not really familiar with all this hi tech stuff, unfortunately (although I succeeded once in another thread here).

Hi: I am having a really hard day today. I am in a technology conference and feeling so lost and alone. Strange how being around 900 people learning makes you feel so lonesome. I miss having someone that cares! Thanks for being a part of my life - Lorry

    Hi Lorry,
It’s really strange, I agree. Lonely is different when it’s “gone forever” and the isolation in a crowd is such a common feeling. Hope you’re navigating your day with lots of self-care. ~Bernadine

Hi George, I am so sorry that you lost her. My partner died on July 7th of this year. Everything you described is what I am going through. Please know that there is a lot of support on GIC. I am here if you ever want to talk.
    Thanks, Kathy

    I. think it was Lou/Van Gogh that recommended Permission to Mourn - EXCELLENT BOOK -- you have to tell your story OVER and OVER as much as you can. Get the book Lorry

Lorry, great to see you on here , helping
other GW, as usual. Thanks for giving me
credit for Zuba's book. I'm sitting at an
outdoor band concert next to the
    American Legion. A festive, fun
atmosphere. I'm not as lonely or as sad
as I was 3 yrs. ago. I know the veterans
very well, & I bought popcorn from
them to benefit the Legion. Meeting
people and listening to music have helped
    me fight my sadness. Lou

Kathy, haven't heard from you in a
while. The death of your soulmate is so
recent and raw. I'm glad you're still on
    GIC. , Lou

It is an excellent book. Guess what - I am taking dance lessons at the VFW here $5 an hour - cannot beat it. I would highly recommend a PALS group if you all have one in you area. Lorry

Lorry, that's great that you're taking
dance lessons! Had to look up PALS
organization, on my Smart Phone. I never
heard of it, and I don't believe there's one
near me. But, it sounds great. You & I
are getting out of our grieving shells,
and trying to lead a healthy & happy
    life. Lou

Dear Grief Warriors pet parents, there is a flu bug going around making dogs very sick. Google this site dogflu.com and it will have a map showing infected areas. They even have locations to get vaccinated. Gary

Thank you, Lou. It's been a difficult week. Mostly sleeping and taking care of my cats and Rat Terrier. They keep me going, somehow.
