    Hello Everyone:

It will be one year on November 21 since I lost Shalane to heart failure.

If not for this site in the early days, I honestly do not know what I would have done, the grief was so heavy that I literally wanted to crawl out of my own skin.

I posted here while bawling my eyes out, and many of you were kind and understanding and supportive.

    Thank you!

Since then life has returned to its new normal.
I am learning to take each day as it comes, I have been traveling and going to concerts and hockey games.

I also have met a wonderful lady and we are getting to know one another and sharing parts of our lives together.

Grief still enters the scene, actually these past 3-4 days have been exceptionally tough.
You never really “move on” but I am choosing how I’m managing it.

My choice is to remain optimistic and happy just like Shalane would have wanted, it’s not easy.

So, I am learning to live again and to love again.
I’m 59 with hopefully a lot more life left.

Just always remember that YOU are loved and needed. Don’t give up even when it seems so bleak after this loss.

May you day be brighter and your joy be fuller as we walk this path.

Thank you all for your love and strength ❤️
