My husband died in mid July this year after over a year long battle with cancer. We were married over 36 years. In the spring our 4 month old grandson passed away unexpectedly. As a result, of my grand baby's passing my son moved his family 150 miles away for a change of scenery. My husband passed 2 months later. The house os quiet. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. I struggle to go to work each afternoon. I can't get anything done my head is still not making sense of so much change so fast. I have no motivation but I realize I must get up to care for pets, I must get up and go to work. Friends and co-workers can't understand what and how I feel. My other grown kids have families of their own. Cancer may have taken my husband's life. Alcohol had already robbed him of who he was
Essentially I have been grieving him for years. Trying to find people who understand and share the emptiness left behind how to heal and find some motivation to keep going forward.

I am so sorry for your losses.

There are no easy answers in regards to coping with these losses.

For me, it was tons of therapy and using a guided journal by Megan Devine called how to carry what can’t be fixed.

Be safe, and be gracious to yourself.
