Now single in a couples world

I lost my wife in April 2020. I am learning to live by myself and adjusting to being single again after being married for 30 years. A challenge I have now is being single in a couples world. Going on vacations with our couple friends, going out to eat with couple friends, etc always makes me feel like a “ third wheel” and always feeling the void and missing my late wife’s presence.
Do you have any suggestions on how to continue these relationships with couples but feeling more comfortable as being the single person in the group?

John H i'm like you! All of my friends are couples and i'm comfortable with them...i remember that some years ago i found it a strange and a little painful thing, that i was the only one alone and single! But now i enjoy the company of my friends and i think they are lucky to have their loved ones with them! I understand that you are feeling uncomfortable but my advice is keep see them...their company help you in this hard path of grief and try to overcome that you are single...it's life, we can do nothing! But have friends, couples or not, is so important to heal from hard pain! Take care of you!
