I'm so sorry for your loss, and your circumstances. You would think health care professionals would be more sympathetic. My husband died a month ago due to an automobile accident, someone ran a stop sign and sent his truck into the air. He had a perfect driving record at the age of 53 and he dies in a wreck. Anyway, while in the morgue I made the comment that I didn't understand why he couldn't survive the wreck. There wasn't evidence of a scratch on him, no blood. Her response was, "You know what happened right? His truck flipped three times. He died of trauma!" Well, that was NOT what I needed to hear right then.

I too,am 58 years of age. My husband had a quadruple bypass at age 51, in 2015. I thought we would retire in the years to come. He went back to work. He looked better than ever. He quit smoking right away. On July 4th (11 weeks ago) I woke up and he was gone. He was 54 years old. It was too late for me to do anything. I feel as though my life is a tsunami. I think I’ve felt every emotion possible. I miss talking to him and I miss him so much I can’t stand it. We were married for 18 years. I have so many friends that support me and my family but I’m still miserable without him. On Fridays I come home from work and stay in the house with my 2 dogs and 2 cats until Monday morning when I have to go back to work. I feel like a fake at work because on bad days, I just fake it until I get in my car and then I cry on the way home. This has to be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through in my life. Ive read about 7 books on losing a spouse. I pray. I see a counselor every 2 weeks. Some days it seems to be getting worse instead of better.
