As I've said before, Deb, I have a fantasy
that all of us have a group hug, like in
the final episode of "The Mary Tyler
Moore Show". It's good to see Patti &
Karen on here today. I was worried
    about them. Lou

Karen, good to hear from you! Good luck
with PT. I took a fall on one knee as I
went into my local bar for dinner. I was
bleeding, & the female bartender and 2
    waitresses hovered around me with
bandages. It was nice to have female
attention. That knee is healing, but the
other one must have tensed up, bc it
hurts when I use the stairs, or tie my
sneakers. I will go to a rehab. unit on
Fri. for an eval. I've been taking CVS
tylenol. If we have ice on the ground
this winter, I'll stay inside those days.
Many people seem to be fleeing
California now. I liked it when I visited,
as a boy, but much less so, with Linda,
    years later. Lou

    Lou,

Sorry to hear about your knee. I'm glad you're going to get it evaluated, but hope it's nothing serious. Hope that whatever happened, it heals quickly and as painlessly as possible! Keep us updated.

I wish it was possible for all of us to get together for that group hug! Makes me smile thinking about it.

As always, sending you hugs, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

Hi everyone. Lou, found "The Swimmer" on Crackle, watched it, deep movie. Take care of your knee. Then watched "Mighty Joe Young" on TCM. Decided I needed some music, bad idea. Deb, Sun came out, Gabby(the cat) napped in the sun coming in the front door. Went out to the shed, was going to move some things around, another bad idea. I seem to be at odds today. Going from one thing to another, not accomplishing anything. I haven't "talked" to the others, would like to. I sometimes don't know what to say to ones I don't know.
Listening to music, if you listen to the lyrics closely to some of the songs( The Police, "Every Breath You Take", stalker song) you do get some eye openers. Never listened to much of Bon Jovi, dang he has some powerful songs. Have "Best Slow Rock Ballads" on now, 70's, 80's, 90's. Headphones on, sound cranked up, sing to the ones I know.
I hope everyone had a pleasant day, a pleasant week-end. Hugs, and good thoughts to all of you. Talk again soon. Carole

Hi Deb, I know exactly what you mean. I have throw pillows on the chairs in the living room. I had my chair, Ron had his, and he always moved the pillow, to prop up his back. The pillow is not always how I have it fixed.. I know it is Ron, just like when I moved his stuff in his computer room, and heard something crash, he was not happy and let me know. Moved the things back, not a peep since.
Shoot, later than I thought, time for some food. Talk again soon, take care, hugs and good thoughts your way. Carole

Carole, I found "The Swimmer" to be an
interesting case study of the hollowness
of suburban life: drinking parties, bored
    married couples, infidelity, obsession with
" keeping up with the Joneses"...... I found
it to be very depressing in the end. Linda
& I liked movies with happy endings. I
like that Police song for its' music & beat,
but the words ARE creepy! Love blues
song by Muddy Waters, Hootchie Cootchie
Man, for it's driving beat, & mischievous
    theme. Lou

Thanks, Deb. Not concerned about knee,
bc I can walk fine, thank God! Tylenol
helped relax the knee, when I woke up
in the middle of the night. I have to be
more careful, and look where I'm going!
Thanks again for helping all of us here.
I like to check in with you & others,
    every day or evening. Lou

I live in Oregon. While there are no fires near where I live, all the smoke from the Cal. fires blow through here. Can't be outside. Can't see beyond the town limits because of the smoke.
I just turn the AC on and stay inside.
And my dog keeps me company.

Things were okay her until Saturday . Must have been a wind shift or something.
It is hot and dry and smoky here. I found out yesterday my family on the east coast got through Hur. Ida. Their basement got flooded with about a foot or so of water. Otherwise they survived.
Two extremes in different parts of the country.
