Hi everyone. I'm new here. My name is nicole. I'm 30 years old. Married with 2 kids. Here's what's been going on. A year ago my grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma at the age of 73. I've always been very close to her. Shes just like a second mother to me. The cancer had spread to her lungs and lymph nodes. They did some kind of treatment, which was working so well. It had cleared the cancer in her lungs. This past June, she asked her dr for a cat scan and sure enough she found out that the medication had stopped working and the cancer spread back into her lungs and now in her spleen and liver. Anyways ... shes now in a hospice and I dont even think she has a week left. I'm having such a hard time. It's hard being able to be happy with my kids, when all I can think about is my grandmother. I live 3 hours away, and I've been traveling back and forth. I just got back today and my husband told me I was miserable tonight. I said sorry I'm going through a hard time right now. Then he went on saying I'm cold. We've been together for 7 years. I've never lost anyone close to me before. And normally I'm a very happy person. But this has really gotten me down. I cant picture my life without my grandmother. And now I have my husband saying this rude stuff to me. Ughhh ... I feel like I want to leave him on top of dealing with my family matters.

Sorry to hear your of your grandmother's medical issues. This is a difficult situation for all involved. Your husband feels you are ignoring your family and behaving badly toward him. You feel a natural concern for your grandmother. The fact that you are "different" now is understandable. I don't have any advice - other than to say you can only do so much. I hope this site helps - if only for you to vent.
