its the first group of holidays coming up and I’m finding myself crying wanting to stay in bed and not getting thru the days. I don’t feel like I can talk to anyone because nobody in my family understands. They all say they are there for me but I just feel like they mean well but don’t get it. Any help would be appreciated

I completely understand how you feel. This will be the first group of holidays I am spending alone since my sister (whom I lived with and was my best friend) passed away. I do not have any close family left nor friends where I now live. It is so hard because one is bombarded with tv ads, etc regarding the upcoming holidays where it shows everyone happy and celebrating. I intend to avoid it as much as possible by not going to malls or watching holiday programs on tv. I know we will both get through this trying time but it will be very difficult. I am looking forward for the holidays to come and go. Wishing you the best.

This has been the worse year ever. My beloved husband died on July 20th. Our 30th Anniversary was August 18th. Private burial September. My birthday in October. His birthday in November. Getting through his favorite month, October: his favorite season, Autumn. And now as we enter the Holiday season I am just numb. I am anticipating a bad Christmas. He loved Christmas. We had our favorite movies. He would give me a list. He was like a big kid. I found a list of his from a few years ago and could not read it. I just want to get through these Holidays and maybe I can just chill for a few moments until all the first anniversaries begin. Everything about this season is just awful.

So sorry for your loss. I feel exactly the same way but it is my sister whom I lived with and was my best friend who passed away. The Holidays are especially difficult because that is all you hear about on television, in the malls and everywhere showing people celebrating. I cannot wait for the holidays to be over with.
  5. I’m right there with you. I just want to talk about my love and how much I miss him but others don’t understand. Thanksgiving was really really hard. I’m so incredibly sad. It’s good to know I’m not alone.

  7. I will stop myself several times a day thinking ‘what a horrible dream’ only to realize I’m awake and it’s not a dream
