I lost my husband of almost 20 years on April 5, 2021 he had stage IV lung cancer. He was only 50. We have 3 children 15,18 and 21. It has been the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. I'm only 44, and now I"m a widow. Life is not the same, and I am sad all the time. I cry everyday and just feel like things will never be good again. I no longer have my other half the one to pick me up when I was down, the one I could always count on. I have a hard time going to work. It's hard to focus and concentrate. I feel like a mess and feel like no one truly understands.

The people on this site truly do understand. Keep reaching out here at Grief in Common. Read their stories and look for messages that might be of some help. This overwhelming pain you are feeling has affected almost all of the participant's who utilize this forum. We do understand, and we want to hep. I felt the same lost feelings that you are experiencing when I lost the love of my life (and best friend) to cancer in October of 2019. I found an outlet for my grief by writing songs of tribute to my beloved wife Janet. I hoped that my tributes, although written for Janet, might help others who are seeking some form of solace to aid in their own daunting task toward recovery. I still get triggers that result in unsolicited and spontaneous tears quite often. The pain will not go away, you just need an outlet to nudge the pain to one side while remaining thankful for the eternal love that you were (and are) blessed to be absorbed by your soul. Your beloved is still with you, and is watching out for you.
    May God grant you peace.
