My therapist recommended this site to me. It has been a very rough 6 months. I moved across the country from where I lived my whole life, my closest living relative is 1,000 miles away. At the end of October, I lost my uncle very suddenly. The day of the funeral, we received news that my grandmother would not make it to Christmas. While she is still living, I feel like I have already lost her. Because I am so far from home, there is nothing I can do. I am not able to take off endless amounts of time to help my parents and spend time with her. Going from a funeral to planning the next one in less than 12 hours is a lot. I feel like I am in a hazy limbo area. I am still grieving one loss, and preparing for the next one at the same time, which makes it all that much harder to cope with any of it. I am just lost and not really sure what I do next to get better

I'm so sorry for what you've been experiencing, that is a tremendous amount of loss and upheaval all at the same time. The distance only complicates things, not just logistically but for grief, I had a similar experience. I know there aren't really words that can fully speak to your hurt and what you are feeling, but I'm glad you are here. Only speaking for myself, sometimes when I'm having the toughest of days, connecting with someone who is experiencing their own grief helps, even if it may be only a slight bit at the time.

    Sending positive thoughts your way.

All you can do is take one day at a time. For me some days or moments are overwhelming. Take time for you and give yourself time to process and give yourself time to grieve. I am by no means an expert. I’ve been struggling for 6 years. Your loved one who passed and your Grandmother would want you to be safe and healthy. I know it sounds cliche but if the shoe was on the other foot you would want what was set for them. Try to get sleep, eat, take a little time for yourself and it won’t seem as overwhelming. I hope this helps a little. Take care.
