Sing to Me (Poem for my dad)

    My dad used to sing to me when I was little. Whenever I'd be upset or scared he'd make me warm milk and honey and he'd tuck me into bed and sing to me. The other night I was having a really hard time and was struggling to come up with something to say at his wake, then this poem came to me.

    Sing to me, sing to me
    Hold me till I fall asleep
    Rest under the willow tree
    Hold my hand, and set me free

    Sing to me, sing to me
    Soothe my soul and cradle me
    Hold me close and I'll hold thee
    Then lift me up, and set me free

    Sing for me, sing for me
    My spirit rests now, peacefully
    I'm in your heart, I'll always be
    I'll hold you now, I am set free...

    You touched my heart, because you said the things I feel about my dad. He died November 20, 2019 Thank you for sharing.
