My husband passed away last Saturday, November 2nd. He'd been in the hospital for 2 weeks, and they'd supposedly successfully treated a variety of serious medical conditions - but still wasn't getting better. Then on Tuesday evening, October 29th the did a full-body CT scan - and found he had cancer of the esophagus and another cancer in his groin, and both had metastasized in every lymph node and his lungs. He also had pneumonia, a bladder infection, kidney stones, gallstones, and sepsis! Wednesday he came home via ambulance for Hospice at Home, and he passed away Saturday. He was only 61 years old; we'd just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. So much, so fast, no time to comprehend it. So it's "One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus...", grief seems to be coming in small portions every day. Maybe my new guardian angel is protecting me.

So very sorry for what you and your dear husband went through.
I believe God has built in protection for the grief to come gradually. If it hit us all at once, I don't believe we could bear it. It is such a heavy , isolating feeling; however, as you trust in Jesus he will give you the strength and courage to keep walking.
May God bless you and help you in every way. A sudden loss like yours is heartbreaking.
We love and care about you. Stay connected here and share your feelings as you feel led. Talking things through helps and no one has to have an answer because God has all the answers and He is willing to support you. He and I love you.
    God bless,
    Chris

This is such a new unknown experience. I understand your pain and “so much, so fast,no time to comprehend. “ My husband died 3 weeks ago, Nov 22. On Monday, he was cutting firewood and on Friday they did open heart surgery quadruple bypass. Sent him home but labs were not normal. So we just kept asking for help from Drs. but they’re all too busy. 3 weeks after surgery he passed out suddenly at home and never woke up. He had a heart attack and another one at ER. Our anniversary would be 54 years this Sunday, Nov. 22. I too feel the grief coming in waves. I miss my best friend everyday and sharing our day together. I hope we do have our guys looking out for us from heaven.

I’m sorry for your loss. My story is similar to yours and I felt compelled to post. My husband died suddenly three weeks ago at the age of 61. He had cancer and had been in the hospital for surgery. They removed the last of the cancer and we were preparing for him to come home and then unexpectedly his heart gave out. The grief is overwhelming and all consuming at times. I miss him every day.

Thank you for sharing. Our stories are similar and heartbreaking for us. Overwhelmed is so true. We just thought we’d have more time. I don’t know how you could ever be prepared. There are so many times in the day I want to tell him what’s new and continue our ongoing conversations and realize he’s not coming back. Our lives were so intertwined after almost 54 years of marriage— I miss his love.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Holidays are harder because they hold a lot of memories and reminders. Lean on the Lord for strength and comfort. We are here for you.
    Love to you,
    Chris
