Its been over a year since Mum went, Dad was broken by her death and lost the will to carry on. They had been together since 1958 when they were both teenagers. Dad became ill and went to hospital where he died a few weeks later. I coped with both funerals, and with sorting out their personal belongings, and probate and the house - I sold mine and moved in here and are slowly modernising it. Hoping it will start to seem like moving on. But the last few months the grief is getting worse. I work from home -software engineer - and most of my time I never speak to anyone and I do my work BUT I often just get hit by a 'wave' of sadness and tears. I talk to them (I have their photos near my desk) more and more. Tomorrow I am travelling to the village where I grew up, and walk up a hill which has many special childhood memories for both me and them - to scatter their ashes. I felt unable to do this until now. Their ashes have been in a cupboard. But the grief and sadness comes in waves every day. Is this normal ? - I found this site and not sure why but I felt the need to say something. Not a single day passes without grief.
