    Hi, everyone.

I’m reaching out here because I’ve recently lost someone who meant the world to me. He was not just my partner, but my best friend, and losing him has left me feeling completely lost. I’m struggling with the overwhelming emotions that come with grief—especially when the person I loved and envisioned my future with is no longer a part of my life, even though I still care deeply for him.

It’s been tough finding people who truly understand the kind of pain that comes with losing a partner, and I’m hoping to connect with others who may be going through something similar. If you’ve felt the way I do, or have any advice on navigating this kind of loss, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Lost my husband 17 months ago. It’s really difficult. I have a therapist. I am starting EMDR therapy. I have joined in person suicide support groups and in person bereavement groups for widows. Reading books like “Understanding Your Suicide Loss and the journal helps. Basically you have to take care of yourself because no one else knows how.

Hi Debora. I am sorry for your loss. You are right about taking care of yourself because no one else knows how-except God. God is an ever present help in the time of trouble. He understands our grief because He lost His good friend Lazarus.
Other people can just not understand the depth of the pain and the feeling of isolation a suicide brings to the survivor. It's not that they don't want to help, but they just can't understand if they have not been through an experience like yours.
You can turn to God and trust God to help you and we are a caring group of people here who care about your pain. Stay connected with us.
    Love to you,
    Chris
